The founder of the first feminist writing salon, Elizabeth Montagu’s Bluestockings Society paved the way for femme-identified poets and authors alike. Continuing this tradition, since 2014 Naked Narratives has hosted feminist coteries across the globe, using storytelling to uplift and empower marginalized voices. Featuring narrators from its most recent program with the /FIVE Arts Initiative at The Huntington Library, in an exclusive evening performance fifteen queer, femme poets, musicians, and dancers of color will share their stories. Engaging with themes rooted in the body and the human experience, this sensory showcase will add identity and instinct to the discourse of The Montagu Collection. Celebrating the beauty of all our hard-earned lessons and paying homage to the ones that taught them to us.
